Fame

Fame is a 2009 American musical film which is a loose remake of the 1980 film of the same title. It was directed by Kevin Tancharoen and written by Allison Burnett. It was released on September 25, 2009 in both USA, Canada and the UK. I really really really wanna watch this film but I not really sure whether this film will released in Malaysia or not...
Why I'm so desperate to watch this film...? Basically, this film is about a group of actors, singers, dancers and artists over four years at the New York City High School of Performing Arts, a diverse, creative powerhouse where students from all walks of life are given a chance to live out their dreams and achieve real and lasting fame...the kind that only from talent, dedication and hard work. This life is really same with the life in ASWARA which is a performing arts school as well. From the trailer, we can see them work hard for their show, same as ASWARians, we also really work hard for our Final Showcase. This film gonna to give me, all the ASWARians and all performing arts student a big impact... n' proud to say... THIS IS OUR FILM...

Thunderstorm (雷雨)

Recently, in my basics of acting class, we got a chance to practice a great play from China during the 30th century, "雷雨-Thunderstorm". It is a play by the Chinese dramatist, 曹禺(Cao Yu). It is undoubtedly the most popular dramatic Chinese work of the period prior to the Japanese invasion of China in 1937.

I love this play so much because it is all about
the complex relationship between the members of two households - one upper class and wealthy, the other low class and poor. Specifically, the plot of "雷雨-Thuderstorm" centers on one family's psychological and physical destruction as a result of incest, as perpetrated at the hands of its morally depraved and corrupt patriarch, Zhou Puyuan. Although, the script is in Malay Language but the it still remain the "ummp" of Chinese ancient culture.

I just found that this script was been filmed before in Hong Kong during 1957. Surprisingly, I found that the role that I plays in "
雷雨-Thuderstorm", (周衝-Chou Chong) was act by Bruce Lee in the film version. Ha! Ha! Ha! ~(proud that got this role)~

Here I attached as well a scene from the film version of
"雷雨-Thuderstorm"... Enjoy!

畫皮 - Painted Skin

Today on Boon's Recommended,

Yesterday, after the stage play practice, me and all the OBG casts and crews going to One Utama for the movie "畫皮 - Painted Skin". At first, I think this movie is a sort of artistic film with a boring storyline. BUT, after I watched it, I fall in love with this movie. Tell you something as well... I cry during the ending part of this movie... (poor little Zhao Wei. She is so pity...) This movie really have a very good computer effects, great make up and amazing setting (location).

Adapted from classic chinese ancient stories "聊齋 - Strange Tales of Liaozhai", this film is about a married man who falls for a beautiful woman, Xiao Wei (Chou Xun) who is actually a vixen spirit, and her appearance the result of a piece of beautifully painted skin.

Chong Wu (Donnie Yen), an amorously inclined young man, came across an attractive young woman needing his help and he immediately rushed to her aid. The meeting brewed wild imaginations to have her in his arms for himself. Though he is married, he continues having strong desires and urges to bed any pretty woman that he meets. To his shock, the woman that he sexually desires is actually a ghost.

陳喬恩) and Ethan Ruan (阮經天). It started to air on 16th March 2008 till 17th August 2008 (MY BIRTHDAY) and additional episode on 24th August 2008. Huh~ This drama I really cry for it so many times. I also forgot how many times I cry cause the story is really sad sometimes and this is really a very good story ever. Since this drama broadcast, it has constantly achieved very good ratings and officially broke the ratings of previous record holder "The Prince Turns Into A Frog (王子變青蛙)"

Just after 3 episodes finished aired in Taiwan, the audience rating is already reach to 6.77. Ethan promise that he will eat vegetarian on 1st and 15th in lunar calendar when this drama rating reach to 8. Unexpected, on 25th May this drama really reach to 8.13 and broke the record holder "The Prince Turns Into A Frog (王子變青蛙)" which reached 8.05 only.

Episode 12 have been voted as "The Most Sad Moment" by internet user and when I watch this episode, I really cried like shit only. After that, Ethan make another promise again whereby if the rating go high till 10, Ethan and Baron
(陳楚河) will naked swim. On 15th June where episode 13 was aired and the rating for the episode broke another record again. On episode 13, the rating reached to 10.93 (almost 11) which means there 3 770 000 of people in Taiwan watching this drama in the same time and Ethan have to fulfilled his promise lor...

The highest rating for this drama hits to 13.64 and this drama become the most highest rating ever in Taiwan broadcast history. Great Job!

家好月圓 - Moonlight Resonance

Today on Boon's Recommended,

Today I MUST recommend this drama that just release the 1st episode today in Hong Kong and Malaysia as well ...
家好月圓 (Moonlight Resonance). This is the BEST series from TVB ever besides 唐心风暴 (Heart Of Greed). Great cast, great script, great storyline, great acting and everything is great... 家好月圓 (Moonlight Resonance) is 2008 grand production drama by TVB. It is an indirect sequel to 2007's award winning series, 唐心风暴 (Heart Of Greed) it features most of the original cast members in the indirect prequel.

唐心风暴 (Heart Of Greed)
was the drama that I loves the most in year 2007. This drama, 家好月圓 (Moonlight Resonance) I have waiting for a long time and finally it started broadcast from today onwards.

Synopsis

CHUNG SIU HO (Lee Sze Kei, Louise) and her husband KAM TAI JO (Ha Yu) have been working hard for many years to establish a famous reputation for their Moonlight Cake Shop. However, HO discovers that CHO commits adultery with her best friend YAN HUNG (Yim, Michelle) and she breaks up with him miserably. HO brings along her children KAM WING HOU (Lam, Raymond), KAM WING HING (Chen Fala) and her adopted daughter SUEN HO YUET (Yeung Yi) to set up another cake shop for a living.

HUNG moves in to live with JO and she starts playing tricks in the family. She tries pleasing her mother-in-law SHEH KWAN LAI (Lee Heung Kam) in every ways while disuniting her stepson and JO. Outside the family, HUNG starts expanding their business rapidly and HO's younger sister CHUNG SIU SA (Kwan Kuk Ying, Susanna) is displeased. SA decides to fight for the ownership of their cake shop's brand name in court with HUNG and their relationship with HUNG further deteriorates.

Apart from the cake shop business, HO also spends a lot of efforts on her children. Her oldest son KAM WING KA (Chan Ho, Moses) is not interested in managing the cake shop at all and he indulges himself on stock trading. He also develops an entangling relationship with his cousin LO KA MEI (Tsui Tsz Shan, Kate) and YUET at the same time. On the other hand, HO's younger son WING HOU takes up the role of a father in the family and he works hard all the time to earn a living. WING HOU loves his childhood friend CHAU (Chung Ka Yan) whole-heartedly but CHAU is in love with the doctor LING CHI SHUN (Wong Chung Chak). HO works hard unconditionally to strive for the well being of her family members. HUNG, on the other hand, is a very mean person who values her own benefits only. JO is caught between the two women all the time and he feels helpless. One day, a disaster happens at the cake shop. Here comes a time when human nature, family bonds and love are brought to a trail.
